Sometimes this job reminds you that, for all the talk about speed and automation, what really stays with people is how you show up for them. Not just how fast the work gets done, but the experience they have with the team behind it. Our team proved recently exactly why excellent customer service still matters.

Late one morning, I received a call about a property transfer that needed to complete the very next day. The clients were arriving within the hour. Most firms would have declined because the timing was simply too tight. We decided to step in.

What happened next was a fabulous display of teamwork. Our Exchange, Enquiry, Client Services and Compliance Teams all came together, shifted their focus and made sure everything was ready before the clients arrived. File opened, terms issued, ID checks completed, communication aligned. Everyone moved with purpose and pride.

Within two hours, the matter was set up to complete the next day, handled to our usual high standard. And while the fees were a solid outcome, the real win was the clients’ reaction. They arrived stressed after being let down elsewhere. They left relaxed, impressed and genuinely grateful. They told us they own other businesses and properties and want us to act for them on all future matters.

That is the power of service.

People remember how you make them feel. They remember when their urgency becomes your urgency. They remember when a team works together on their behalf. Technical skill is essential, but exceptional service is what builds trust and long-term relationships. Excellence doesn’t happen by accident.
