"Here at TMT Legal Services, we pride ourselves on providing clear, practical advice to help our clients protect what matters most. As Head of Private Client, I see every day how important it is to have an up-to-date will. It’s not just a legal document, it’s peace of mind for you and security for your loved ones."
The start of a new year is the perfect time to review your estate plans. Life changes quickly; marriage, divorce, the birth of a child, buying property, or starting a business can all affect how your estate should be distributed. If your will doesn’t reflect these changes, it could lead to confusion or unintended consequences.
When I review a will, I always ask: Does it still reflect your wishes? Are your chosen executors still the right people? Have you added new assets or investments? And are there any legal or tax changes that could impact your plan? These details matter more than most people realise. Updating your will doesn’t have to be complicated. Start by reviewing your current document and noting any changes. I can make sure everything is legally sound and up to date. A short conversation now can save your loved ones a lot of stress later.
Your will is one of the most important documents you’ll ever create. This New Year, make sure it’s working for you. If you do not have a current will or you haven’t reviewed it in a while, the new year is the perfect time to make a new will.
